Neurotoxins - Botox/Dysport/Xeomin

Neurotoxins such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are injectable medications used to treat wrinkles, muscle spasms, and certain medical conditions.  These neurotoxins work by blocking the signals from nerves to muscles, which temporarily paralyzes the muscles and reduces their ability to contract. This helps to smooth out wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle movements, such as frowning or squinting.  Botox , Dysport, and Xeomin are all derived from the same bacteria, Clostridium botulinum, but they differ in their formulation and the proteins they contain. Botox and Dysport contain a protein called onabotulinumtoxinA, while Xeomin contains incobotulinumtoxinA, which is a purified form of the toxin.
